Flip The Tune 03 - Oktoberfest

Flip The Tune is an idea copied from Andrew Huang's youtube channel, where a few producers take a sample and make a song with it, making that sample the focal point of the song.

How To: Each producer can use all the loops they want to create the song and will have until the end of each month to do it or at least to show something based on it.
Everything from dubious software to official DAWs can be used, you can even steal samples from other songs, just not the whole thing, this is not mashup making, it's remixing and original creations only.

Duration: Work towards a track with at least 1m30s and don't worry about it being too long, can't put chackles on creativity!
Just no need to add a huge beat intro/ending (see examples for more info), we're not looking for extended mixes.

Posting of the songs: Everything works here, sowndhaus, soundcloud, clyp.it, youtube, you name it, as long as one can listen to it.
Choose your song name and tag #flipthetune so we start to get noticed for that tag.

More info on the subject and examples from Andrew Huang in the discussion post (which probably be active every month to decide the next sample to be "flipped")
Here - https://board.crumplebangers.com/discussion/49/flip-remix-remake-re-something-original-the-tune#latest

No entry fee which leads to no prizes awarded :lol: but we'll make good feedback on the production, track composition, sound quality and sound engineering.
**ETA: Sunday 26-Oct 23:59
OK so, who's in? **Please give feedback if you're going to do something for the project.

Third challenge is remixing, sample and create your own thing or whatever you want really with this sample:

  • Got all hyped up about this one and I can't understand why LOL

    My song info below.
    Style: Instrumental HipHop
    Ways the sample is used:

    • Acordeon sound;
    • Guitar notes;
    • Guitar chords;
    • Strings for the main melody.
      All made on Ableton Live with some built-in effects and also VST Plugins like Looperator, Reverse, HalfTime, Izotope Nectar 2, etc.
      Beats shown in the video how they were made.
      Some samples are my own creation from other samples.

    I got the time to make the song and the walk-through video all in a row ;)
    Here's the video with original sample, walk-through and song in the end:

    The audio will be competing in the Instrumental HipHop contest for SKIO so the download link will only be available (on bandcamp) after the contest has its winners, meanwhile show me some love on the contest page:

    don't you forget it! :D
    I'm now a bit more into hiphop due to the Producers Corner sample challenges, these are weekly themed challenges like ours but someone selects the winners on saturday so I'm creating beats every week, but I'm not giving up on our thing, just wish some more people would join this...
    Still, I'm curious for what you are doing to this! ;)

    No problem mate! Love the ambient vibes, so dark and juicy!!!
    Whole new set of hardware skills that I don't have so it's with a bit of envy that I say: Very good use of the sample! ;)
    This must be how the cleaning crew felt after the oktoberfest party ahahah

    thanks! yea im getting more into this kinda tracks these days, soundscape/drone, kinda things, since i now have the hardware to actually do it. not very good at it yet, its a whole new thing for me.
    i timestretched the sampled parts out to 78 BPM, and then put an auto filter and chorus on it,a nd those on a midi controller, so i could sort of play them while jamming.

    im having a listen to yours. youre actually getting great at producing tunes, man. all sounds well put together. to be critical, just for progress, id add maybe a freestyling element to it, an element that goes beyond just the structure. could be anything, really. not to diss your track, though, because its great, i think. but sounds like its ready for vocals, something.. well done though, great flow.

    That's the idea actually, I created it to be a vocal ready track (imagine this having an Eminem or Wu-Tang vocal and it would be a cool remix or original track!)
    That was the whole point of the SKIO Instrumental HipHop contest too!

    BTW check out the talks post so we can start choosing the next flip ;)
